    On September 23, 2011, the Chair for Sustainable development of the palm oil industry from the Sime Darby Foundation was launched at UKM, the National University of Malaysia in Kuala Lumpur. Biohydrogen production from residual streams is one of the main thrust areas in the chair. Pieternel Claassen has been appointed as the first Chairholder.
